Having an Avatar/background issue

Hi, I have had my avatar background photo shopped by someone so that the background doesn't appear, I have tried it with two different pictures done by two different dudes, but when I upload it, the white background still appears.

Any suggestions?

It appears transparent on imgur.com but when I save it to my file then upload it, it has the white background once again, and I don't understand how to do it the other way where you post the link to upload it, because there is quite a few link options and all of them seem to get 'Invalid File'

You have to put the image in the correct resolution (149x224 for that picture) because if the image is resized by the forums, the transparency disappears.

I checked what the resized resolution was for your image by opening your avatar picture in a new tab.

Photo size mustn't be bigger than 180x200.
