I got Windows 8.1 recently and installed san andreas and when I try to run it, it gives me the following error:

I have the newest driver for my 7870 and DirectX 11. I tried a few suggestion from a few threads I found by googling the problem but none work.
I have tried to run san andreas in compatibility for Windows 7, XP and 98 but Windows gives me the following error and asks me to restart. During the restart it says the attempt at updating has failed and it will return to it's original state (paraphrasing here).

Can anyone give me some input? Is anyone running San Andreas on 8.1? If so how did you get it?
INB4 Pirated games are bad and don't work properly.
