Forum Moderator, Tools, Hints, Shortcuts & More!

Information:
This guide is to explain basic forum moderation, tools, hints, shortcuts, and other things about the forums that you may, or may not already know. So let's get started.

Forum Moderator
If you are moderator over a section, you typically can do a few things: Lock, Sticky, Soft Delete, Move, Renames, and Approve/Unapprove.

Locking/Unlocking A Thread
Normal Way:
[1] On the right of the entire thread, there is a little check marker icon, if you check mark the thread you wish to lock, it will be selected and it will indicate it's ready to be locked by showing a check mark on it:

[2] Then to lock/unlock the thread, go down to Moderator Tools:
http://puu.sh/h3sKR/234ddaacaa.png

[3] Click on "Close Threads" or "Open Threads", then hit "Process"

Shortcut:
By quickly double left clicking the mail on the thread, it will lock, or unlock the thread.

Sticking/Unsticking A Thread
There is sadly only one way to sticky a thread, as there is no shortcut. The only way is the following.
[1] On the right of the entire thread, there is a little check marker icon, if you check mark the thread you wish to stick, it will be selected and it will indicate it's ready to be stickied by showing a check mark on it:
http://puu.sh/h3sJn/a3b4e966fd.png

[2] Then to stick/unstick the thread, go down to Moderator Tools:
http://puu.sh/h3sKR/234ddaacaa.png

[3] Click on "Stick Threads" or "Unstick Threads", then hit "Process"
http://puu.sh/h3t0m/a4366ea632.png
http://puu.sh/h3t17/63b44d522f.png
http://puu.sh/h3sOt/048d54d264.png

Renaming A Thread
Normal way:
[1] Open the thread, and hit the "Edit Post" (if you are moderator, you're able to edit others posts too):
http://puu.sh/h3t7j/a4e0807d31.png

[2] Then you need to go down and hit "Go Advanced":
http://puu.sh/h3t9n/64df5856c8.png

[3] Then find "Title", and that would be the name of the thread, you can change it, then hit Save at the bottom of the thread:
http://puu.sh/h3tai/cca643d158.png
http://puu.sh/h3tcE/3886bbab56.png

ShortCut:
Double click the actual name of the thread, and it will let you rename it:

Moving A Thread
[1] On the right of the entire thread, there is a little check marker icon, if you check mark the thread you wish to move, it will be selected and it will indicate it's ready to be moved by showing a check mark on it:
http://puu.sh/h3sJn/a3b4e966fd.png

[2] Then to move the thread, go down to Moderator Tools:
http://puu.sh/h3sKR/234ddaacaa.png

[3] Find "Move Threads", and select that, and hit "Process"
http://puu.sh/h3tls/344f7d5ae1.png
http://puu.sh/h3tlJ/be36cab1c8.png

[4] This is where you need to decide whether you want the thread to redirect, or not redirect. Redirecting will basically leave the thread in the same location where it is at, but it will leave a redirect link that goes to where the thread will be moved to. Personally, I choose to have redirect off, because it look like cancer. So now you need to choose the destination on where you want your thread to be, so you need to select the drop down menu and find a place to put it.
Moving to somewhere, where it shouldn't be could get you a infraction on forums, so always be careful when moving threads.

[5] As you can tell from this picture, the way the forums works is that everything below the section you are in, is caved out or more to the right, those are called your subsections. Once you've selected your new thread location, hit "Move Threads":

Deleting/Undeleting A Thread
[1] On the right of the entire thread, there is a little check marker icon, if you check mark the thread you wish to delete, it will be selected and it will indicate it's ready to be deleted by showing a check mark on it:
http://puu.sh/h3sJn/a3b4e966fd.png

[2] Then to delete/undelete the thread, go down to Moderator Tools:
http://puu.sh/h3sKR/234ddaacaa.png

[3] Find "Delete Threads" or "Undelete Threads", then hit "Process"
http://puu.sh/h3tTt/dc2a527a6a.png
http://puu.sh/h3tVe/01bebf334b.png
http://puu.sh/h3tYh/6857599a74.png

[4] You don't have to leave a reason for deleting, but you can if you want. If you choose not to, then just find "Delete Threads", and finish the job.

REMEMBER: Because you are a moderator, you're able to see the thread even though it's deleted, because it's soft deleted. Other people can not see the thread, unless they are moderator over that section as well. This is what a deleted thread looks like:

Settings a prefix for the Thread
[1] On the right of the entire thread, there is a little check marker icon, if you check mark the thread you wish to prefix, it will be selected and it will indicate it's ready to be prefixes by showing a check mark on it:
http://puu.sh/h3sJn/a3b4e966fd.png

[2] Then to prefix the thread, go down to Moderator Tools:
http://puu.sh/h3sKR/234ddaacaa.png

[3] Find the prefix you want out of your prefixes. (Every section is different, had has it's own prefixes.) Then you need to hit process.
