Sony Vegas isn't the best video editor, it's good, but not the best. There are many software packages for video editing, find one that suits you. Try Adobe Premiere Pro CC/CS6 or if you've got high specs Avid Media Composer is the one to go for. Neither of these are free, but they are free if you know where to look. *wink wink hint hint* Final Cut Pro X is better than vegas imo, but I don't know if you're using a mac. Premiere is my weapon of choice right now.
