Your Question:
Does anyone use a first person modification/ knows a good one which works? I've installed one but my game kept crashing whenever I switched to first person, is that a general problem with that mod or anything else?

Most FP mods are quite buggy, your best bet would be gtainside.com; as it's generally quite trustworthy in terms of mod stability.

Also, if you continue to have problems with this modification, try installing it on a fresh GTA San Andreas.

I still get the same crash when I switch to first person, I probably should re-install the game and then try but I'm too lazy for that right now.
