Chrome is fucked up

Alrighty, so my Chrome is kinda fucking with me.
I've had this shit since I got Chrome installed on this computer..

So, the problem is, when I try to open Chrome the usual way (by clicking on the Chrome icon on my desktop), it tells me that it can't find chrome.exe.
I've tried like everything, I reinstalled Chrome, I updated my Windows, I did everything I know, but it's still like this.


So what I did to fix it:

I created another .exe file and called it chrome.exe.exe and replaced it for chrome.exe. Then I put it in the taskbar under my desktop and I have to right-click on it, then select a website and then it will open.

This works fine for me, but whenever I open a link from something else than Chrome, it opens in internet explorer.
I've tried to go into the settings of my computer and put Chrome as my standard browser, but then the link doesn't even open, so I'll have to use IE to open links from outside of my browser.

Anyone who could help me with this?
I already tried reinstalling Chrome, updating Windows, updating Chrome, etcetera.

I can use my computer when I'm back home and then I'll try this one. Hope it works.

I prefer using Chrome instead of IE or MF.
