How to help newbs
If you want to help newbs at either newb spawn, or just some guy you found walking around, there are a few techniques you should know. If you cuss at a newb and yell at him in caps to get in your car so he can teach you, it would be remarkable if he responded to you at all. Carry about 30k on you, and go to the desired newb. Welcome him to SARP. He'll obviously say yes once you ask him if he wants money. Pay him 2~5k and ask him if he wants more. Again, he'll say yes. Tell him to follow you, and lead him into your car. Success! You're ready to start teaching.
Go to a secluded area (a house/non-popular place would do) and start teaching him RP. Start with the most basic types of MG, then move slowly upwards to the more advanced types, then to PG, DM, and asspull.
Start by saying something like "Since this is an RP server, you can only do and say things you say and do in real life. So for example, you can't say 'lol' or 'xD' in regular chat, but you can say things like that in /b." Then move on by saying "Regular chat is IC, or in character, chat. /b is OOC, or out of character, chat. You can never ever use OOC things in IC chat." Another main point you would want to make: "For example, I can't say your name in IC chat without you telling me it because in real life we don't have names floating on our heads. I can, however, use it in /b." Finally, tell him that using OOC things in IC chat is metagaming, or MG. After all this is said and done, I usually do around 3 simple questions about MG. If they get them wrong, simply correct them.
PG and DM are simple enough to explain. Simply say "/me and /do are for actions and describing the environment." Show him an example, and ask him to check it out. After he does, say "Now don't do something impossible like '/me makes the dustbin in the corner fly and kill the fly.' because dustbins don't fly in real life. If you do something like that, you may be punished for powergaming, or PG."
For DM, this simple sentence should be enough: "Always have an IC reason to kill someone, or else it would be counted as deathmatching, or DM."
Asspulling can get incredibly complicated, because it leads to questions and answers about binds, and many times I find myself skipping it just to not draw the newb's attention to guns. However, I'll try my best to help people who are interested in teaching it to newbs. You should start off by saying "Type '/me takes out a gun from his pocket.' if you're ever going to take out a gun, or else it'll be counted as 'asspulling.'" You can figure it out from there; I'll stop since the parts about binds aren't related to RP.
After those four terms are out of the way, you can either choose to drop him off at his desired place, or show him around town (such as 24/7's, the gym, etc.) IC'ly. Remember, RP with him as much as possible. Of course, I can't predict how every newb will act, but most newbs will RP right back with you. Warn them about how many DMers there are in the server, and how to avoid them. Also warn them about the gym.
Do's
-Use many emotes.
-Be kind and patient at all times.
-Give them prizes for good questions or answers.
-Try and get them to be friends with the "right crowd".
-Answer questions in detail.
-Make sure you don't have to leave for the next hour.
-Leave him alone if he's a troll.
-Tell him to uninstall his hacks if he's a hacker, telling him that if he doesn't, he'll get banned.
-Ask a helper if you're unsure of how to approach a newb or question.
Dont's
-Swear/cuss at the newb.
-Help multiple newbs at once unless they are friends or you have a partner.
-Belittle the newb.
-/report for admins to spec you.
-Whine to head helpers asking for helper.
-Leave the newb stranded in the middle of no where for being stupid.
-Brag about how many newbs you've helped (nobody wants to hear it).
-Force the newb to give the money back.
-Rob the newb.
-Rulebreak.
-Ignore a question you can't answer.
-Overload the newb with too many details about the RP terms. Remember, everybody's human!
Hopefully this guide will encourage you all to help newbs :D Remember, a help newb a day keeps the DMing away!
