View Full Version : Major faction changes

After discussions between myself, Dino, and all relevant faction moderators, it has been decided upon that the current faction dynamics are not working with the way the current server state (RP standards, playerbase etc). The following changes have been discussed as a possibility for a long time, however after the appropriate scripting has been completed and all changes have been discussed - they will now take place, and are as follows:

The FBI has been removed. This is not due to the actions of the current roster. They have done extremely well to run the faction under continued pressure from the community to do well. However, the faction itself cannot currently hold its own as a standalone faction. Therefore, the responsibilities of the FBI will be spread out as listed below.

The SAPD will become the main LEO faction on the server. Right now, the population of the factions, and of the server as a whole, is watered down. Having all major LEOs under one central faction will be much more efficient - all current FBI members will be invited to the SAPD.

The SAPD already has an undercover division. This division already mimics the work of some of the FBI's most prominent division (CID and AGTF), so those responsibilities from the FBI have been given solely to the SAPD.

The Government will work closely with a seperate division to handle faction corruption, as the NSB did in the FBI. (this division will not exist WITHIN the Government, but will RPly be attached to it)

The Judicial Department is being removed. After discussions with Michael Jones, he has continuously voiced his concerns regarding the faction and law enforcement in general on SARP:

With the current playerbase (not numbers, actual standards of a majority of the players), law enforcement is too complicated.

Court cases are barely used, which lowers the RP potential for JD's members.

When cases are concluded, the law of the case is 9/10 never stuck to. If the entire IC intention of the faction is not stuck to, then there is no point in the faction existing. Michael has agreed to this.

From now on, court cases are no longer a thing. Law enforcement has simplified to - if you do something wrong, you serve your time - as it used to be. Some may see this as less realistic than having a court system,
and yes it is. However, it is not utilised properly here, and as a result will be removed.

I know for a fact that there will be drama as a result of this, there always is. General discussion threads are of course allowed. However, repeated content or trollish threads will be deleted.

PM/Skype me with any questions.
