Hello, in this guide, I'll be telling how you can increase your internet speed in windows 10. Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system developed and released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. Windows 10 has some great features, so it requires a lot of internet. For the one who doesn't have fast and unlimited internet and they are tired of keep on resetting their PC, this guide is very helpful for them. I've total 5 methods to increase/fix the internet speed on windows 10.

Methods



Method - 1

1 - Go to start, and click on settings, scroll down and you'd see Updates and Security, click on it.

2 - Select Windows Update and click on the Advance option.

3 - Click on "Choose how updates are delivered"

4 - You would see a box, just untick it. (( switch it off ))

Method - 2

1 - Go to start, and click on settings, click on Network and Internet.

2 - Select wifi and click on your wifi (( on which you're connected )).

3 - Your metered connecting might be off, just turn it ON.

4 - Method 2 ends.



Method - 3

Note:- This will disable Windows update.

1 - Go to Control Panel, and click on administrative tools. If you're not able to see it just set the 'View by' to the large icon.
2 - Search for services and click on it.
3 - Search for 'Background Intelligent Transfer Services' [BITS] and stop it, then disable it.
4 - Now search for Windows update in services and do the same, stop and disable. (( To update your window just enable it like the way you disabled it ))
5 - Method 3 ends.



Method - 4

1 - Go to settings, and select Background apps at the last.
2 - Turn off all the application which you don't use much.
3 - Close it and you're done.



Method - 5

Note: This is an easy way, all you've to do is turning the live tiles off.

1 - Click on start, and you'd see many tiles of other applications.
2 - Right-click on any of the tile and select more.
3 - Click on turn the live tile off.
4 - Method 5 ends.

It will disable the windows update software and some other stuff are found in the settings. But, it doesn't mean that your internet connection will be increased, but it can solve the lag issue.
This tutorial will help some Windows 10 users who also facing this slow internet connection problem, it depends on your connection speed.

Well nice tutorial bu I wouldn't disable the windows updates.

It won't really increase your internet speed, but fix lag - as said above. If you do not like the current internet speed of yours, change ISP with better internet connection or just upgrade the current one, which of course, costs more money.

Yup, those are basic things and it won't fix your net.

To be honest it is a great tutorial but as easy as simple, just give a call to your Internet providers and ask them to speed up your speed as Jesssa said above. But again good effort and nice guide.(for those who wants to save $$ ;-)

Setting the wifi to metered setting stops windows from downloading updates, it's helpful because your ping will be low all the time and not lag
