Your IP is your own identity, and you should conceal it at the best of your ability!

Releasing your own IP to a public networking community could harm yourself in various different ways. For more information on the damage a hacker could do with your IP address, click me (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+can+a+hacker+do+with+your+ip+address).

Step 1: Sign out of Skype and close it.

Step 2: Copy the following code to a notepad and save it as [insert name here].vbs

Set objShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
ss= objShell.RegRead ("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Skype\Phone\SkypePath")
ss= """" + ss + """"
'Add Block rule
objShell.run "netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=""SkypeBlockTCP"" dir=out action=block program=" + ss + " enable=yes protocol=any profile=any"
'Add Allow rule
objShell.run "netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=""SkypeAllowToProxy"" dir=out action=allow program=" + ss + " enable=yes remoteip=127.0.0.1"
'Turn On firewall
objShell.run "Netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state on"
msgbox "Skype Is Tored"

Step 3: Run the file you just created.

Step 4: Copy the following code to a notepad and save it as [insert name here].vbs

Set objShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
objShell.run "netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name=""SkypeBlockTCP"""
objShell.run "netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name=""SkypeAllowToProxy"""
msgbox "Skype Isn't Tored"

Step 5: Run the file you just created. :)

Step 6: Open Skype and click the following: Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Connections

Step 7: Make changes to the following:

Proxy Protocol : Socks5
Host: 127.0.0.1
Port: 9050

Uncheck "use port 80 and 433 as alternatives"
If you're done restart skype or your pc and you're done

Step 8 (This step is optional): If for some reason the resolver still gets your IP, contact your ISP to request a new IP.

After you've done so, the resolver will continually display your old IP.

Congratulations, no fagalas will ever get your IP from skype again!

Given that there's about 100 more ways to get an IP if you really want to...

I'mma try this out real quick I'll tell you if it works

This did not at all work for me I did everything exactly as stated in the thread, I have a static IP address however and I'm not going to call to ask my ISP to change it, maybe this stops it from updating to your most recent IP? In that case, that explains why it didn't work. If not, fukk this shit dntwrk

The only harm it does is two things.
1) Computer illiterate people who have certain software enabled like remote control are possibly vulnerable.
2) DDoS, if you're hated.

All this guy is explaining to do is send all of your Skype connections through Tor, which acts as a proxy.

You know what you can do with an IP? Get somebody's exact city and state, once you have that it's a lot easier to use DOXing methods to gain their personal information. Quit assuming you know everything, I've been doxed before and one of the keys to making sure they had the right Kaleb was them knowing that I lived where I do, and they found that out by tracing my IP, one piece of information leads to the next for DOXers. The DOX on me is still out there and it was 100% accurate but I've moved a few times now and I really don't care anymore, I could be DOXed again, I live in an apartment building and idk im just not concerned if you have my adress, fuck u gonna do? go ahead and "swat" me been done not that terrifying of an experience tbh just a waste of my time. You're cool and all but just quit assuming you'd know these things when it appears you really don't.

Back on topic, this actually does work, I went to school today and connected on a new IP and now the resolver aren't able to get me. I'm not going to smother you in credit because I'm positive you didn't make this Nordic, however you're the first person who's brought it to my attention so thanks bro :)

Yeah, nothing against this guy, I just went from a thread of an admin being punished for giving out an IP to this which he was talking about protecting your IP.

Besides;

Remote desktop is disabled by default so if someone actually enabled that then well they deserve what's coming (Especially if they don't have a user password).

I feel someone with the knowledge of the related subject can bypass this. If not, they can always use someone that's infected and install a program that deletes that .vsc or whatever.
